The Ignition Grid displays the interpretation of the ignition and barrier vectors by the MTT or Farsite models. Because these models calculate fire behavior characteristics on a cell or node basis, the ignition and barrier vectors are converted to grids to use.
Cells with a value of zero are barriers and a value of one indicate an ignition cell.
This grid is useful for understanding how the ignition and barrier vectors interact with each other and unburnable landscape cells. It can often explain what appears to be strange outputs or simulations.
