Runs

FlamMap has the capability to have multiple runs for each analysis area. (Remember, you can also create analysis areas that are subsets of the entire project landscape.) All these sub-analysis areas and runs are contained within the FlamMap project. Separate runs for an analysis area can utilize different weather or wind parameters, canopy characteristics, or fuel moistures.

Tree pane showing two analysis areas with two runs each.

This "Tree" pane helps show the relationship between three FlamMap elements; projects, analysis areas, and runs. The project ( Happy Camp) contains two analysis areas, the Entire Landscape (Default) and the New Analysis Area.

Note there are two levels of FlamMap run items in each Analysis Area. The upper level Runs item, identified by the icon and the Runs name, cannot be changed. There are no default individual runs under the Runs item.

Individual runs are created by the user, they are given the default name New Run and are identified by the page icon. Individual runs can be renamed on the Inputs tab of the "Run:" dialog box.

There are four individual runs in this "Tree" pane, two in each analysis area;

Conditioning Run
Simple Run
New Farsite Run
Near Max Wx

Only Conditioning Run and Near Max Wx runs have output grids generated.
